The Portland Aerospace Society came to Fir with the need of raising $80,000 to be able to launch Oregon’s first satellite (ORESAT) into space. We created this reddit campaign for several sub/reddits as “hooks” to drive viewers to a Kickstarter page where they could learn more about Oresat and donate to the cause.
From the guiding insight ‘space nerds never out grow space’ the concept Wanna Go to Space was created for this campaign. Building on that insight, we introduced the element of child like make-believe and imagination by creating cardboard space helmets to ray guns.
